Alba Llorach Roca; d-Bü-Wettbewerb

Alba Llorach Roca is a Mediterranean pianist, violinist, and scholar of literature and linguistics. Her artistic work lies at the intersection of contemporary music, language, and art, combining interpretive precision with a curious and exploratory approach.

Supported by the Ferrer Salat Foundation, she studied piano at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona with Alba Ventura and Michael Davidov, graduating with distinction. In parallel, she pursued studies in Literature at the University of Barcelona. Her training continued in Salzburg, where she completed several master’s degrees: Solo Piano Performance with Jacques Rouvier and Contemporary Music with Eung Gu Kim at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and Linguistics (Romance Languages) at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.

 

Her studies and artistic work have received multiple awards. She is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions (see below) and has been supported by prestigious scholarships, including the Postgraduate Studies Abroad Scholarship from the Fundació “la Caixa”.

As a pianist specializing in contemporary music, Alba Llorach Roca has collaborated closely with composers such as Mark Andre, Helmut Lachenmann, Chaya Czernowin, Sarah Nemtsov, Georg Friedrich Haas, Vykintas Baltakas, Hans Tutschku, Laure M. Hiendl, and Henry Fourès.

 

Alongside her artistic career, she is also academically active and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation at the University of Salzburg.
